IPL 2023: Lucknow Super Giants Skipper KL Rahul Fined Rs 12 Lakhs For Maintaining Slow Overrate

KL Rahul, the skipper of the Lucknow Super Giants, has been assessed a fine of Rs. 12 lakhs for his team’s slow overrate against the Rajasthan Royals in this Indian Premier League game. On Wednesday evening at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, LSG defeated Rajasthan Royals by a score of 10 runs. Mr. Rahul was fined Rs 12 lakhs by the IPL because it was the team’s first violation of the season under the Code of Conduct for minimum over-rate infractions.

IPL matches are intended to last three hours and twenty minutes, but slow overrate is proving to be a problem as numerous games have gone over the four-hour mark.

With 51 points off of 42 balls, Kyle Mayers led LSG’s 154 for seven total. Avesh Khan took three wickets for LSG as RR was reduced to 144 for six in 20 overs in response.

Gujarat Titans and Lucknow will play on April 22.

Star batter Virat Kohli was recently also penalised 10% of his match fees. On Monday, April 17, while competing against Chennai Super Kings at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, Royal Challengers Bangalore player Virat Kohli had 10% of his match money deducted. The news was released via an IPL advisory following the match, which RCB defeated by 8 runs in a thrilling contest on Monday night.

The fine may have been imposed as a result of Kohli’s boisterous celebration of CSK batsman Shivam Dube’s dismissal. At a pivotal moment in the game, Mohammed Siraj successfully caught the Chennai batter in the deep.
