The FIH Odisha Men’s Hockey World Cup 2023 has concluded, with Germany bringing home the prized trophy after a thrilling penalty shootout versus Belgium. As the final whistle blew, Germany was crowned winner, capping off a hugely successful event in Bhubaneswar and Rourkela.

The final match was attended by the Honourable Governor of Odisha, Shri Ganeshi Lal, the Honourable Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Shri Hemant Soren, and the Honourable Minister of Sports and Youth Services, Shri Tusharkanti Behera. Former Chief Justice of India Shri Sharad Arvind Bobde and former Indian Captain and Hockey Legend Dhanraj Pillai were also present throughout the day.
The event included a variety of cultural experiences, fan parks, and tourism projects within the city and beyond, so it wasn’t simply the hockey that left a mark on spectators and competitors.

Fans were able to thoroughly engage with the culture of Odisha and India thanks to these activities, which produced an immersive experience for them. The cultural events were a special highlight, with spectators from all over the world taking in the regional and even rival nations’ traditional music, dance, and cuisine.
The fan parks were a tremendous hit as well, giving supporters of various clubs a fun and lively place to congregate while watching games. Modern screens, a variety of food and drink options, and activities for people of all ages were also provided in the fan parks.
By showing the top-notch facilities and the diverse culture on offer, the event has helped place the state and the nation on the map of the world of sports. The hockey sport as well as the entire country have benefited greatly from the competition.
Fans and sportsmen alike complimented the venue, the hospitality, and the tournament’s administration, and many are already looking forward to the next Hockey World Cup in India.
