Amid all the criticism, Arjun Tendulkar finds solace from former Aussie Pacer Brett Lee!

In the short time that he has played in the IPL, Arjun Tendulkar has experienced both extremes. Arjun let up 48 runs in three overs to Punjab Kings in an IPL 2023 encounter after grabbing a wicket in the final – against SunRisers Hyderabad.

He also gave up 31 runs in one over during that game, this is the second-most expensive over by a MI bowler. On Tuesday, after Rohit Sharma, his captain, decided to bowl first after winning the toss, Arjun, the son of Sachin Tendulkar, got off to a bright start and gave up four runs in the first over.

A pull shot attempt by Wriddhiman Saha to edge one to the keeper off Tendulkar on the first delivery of the third over was missed, and MI didn’t have to wait as long for their first success. Saha revisited the ruling after heeding the counsel of his partner Shubman Gill, but UltraEdge decided to stick with the original verdict.

After getting hammered by Punjab Kings for 48 runs in three overs four days prior, Tendulkar junior made a good return. The 23-year-old left-arm seamer’s confidence was growing as he only allowed five runs to be scored. Until now, Arjun Tendulkar’s performance has amassed mixed reactions.

Some have criticized his pace while some have suggested that if he works hard, he can break into the Indian team sooner or later. Meanwhile amid all the fuss around Arjun Tendulkar, former Australian, Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders’ pacer Brett Lee offered some support to the 23-year-old.

Lee said that people will always have their opinion either good or bad and he is just 23 and has a lot of time ahead in his career. The Aussie legend further compared Arjun Tendulkar with Sandeep Sharma who bowls at a pace of 120 and lastly asked Arjun to ignore all the criticism.

“You will have people criticise almost everything. If you look at Sandeep Sharma, he has been bowling at 120 kph. Arjun is bowling way faster than that. He is only 23 years of age and he has got his whole career ahead of him. My advice will be don’t listen to critics.” – said Brett Lee.
