Watch : This adorable kissing moment between Wahab Riaz and Martin Guptill in PSL 2023!

An enthralling, nail biting and extremely high scoring match in Pakistan Super League 2023 was on display last night as Quetta Gladiators defeated Peshawar Zalmi by 8 wickets and 10 balls to spare. This match will go down as one of the best T20 matches ever in franchise leagues as both the teams scored combined 400+ runs.

Before we discuss further about the match, there was a heartwarming incident which took place during the match and fans have been going crazy since then. It occurred during the 3rd over of the match between Peshawar pacer Wahab Riaz and Quetta batter Martin Guptill.

The Kiwi was looking in fine form and gave his team just the start they needed alongside Jason Roy. Guptill had already scored 21 off just 7 balls but in his 8th ball he was sent back to the pavilion. Wahab Riaz bowled a short of length delivery and Guptill failed to read it and edged the ball in the air as he attempted to pull the ball across.

Riaz took a comfortable catch in the end and was seen kissing the helmet of Martin Guptill as a sign of respect for the kind of form he was in. The Gladiators were chasing a mammoth total of 241 runs after Peshawar Zalmi through Babar Azam’s 115 off 65, Saim Ayub’s 73 off 34 and Rovman Powell’s 35 off 18 helped the Zalmi’s put up staggering 240 runs after winning the toss and batting first.

However, a target of 241 at the Pindi Cricket Stadium did not prove to be a safe one for Peshawar Zalmi led by Babar Azam. If Peshawar’s batting was superb then Quetta Gladiators’ response was even more lethal. England’s destructive opener Jason Roy led from the front and took the charge after Guptill’s dismissal.

Roy overshadowed Babar Azam’s full century as the Englishman played a match winning knock and smacked 145 runs off just 63 balls. The 32-year-old had Twenty 4s and Five 6s and clicked a strike rate of 230.16 to spoil Peshawar Zalmi’s party.
