The frequent criticism of KL Rahul’s form by Venkatesh Prasad stirred up quite a stir on social media. After Prasad and Aakash Chopra got into a Twitter spat, what began as a single opinion quickly became the trending subject on Twitter.
Chopra responded to Prasad’s condemning criticism of Rahul on Twitter by defending the India batter, setting off an all-out acrimonious exchange. Prasad rejected a plea to discuss the situation via video and accused Chopra of being a “Agenda Peddler” and other things.
Honestly doesn’t matter , Aakash. In my view it is very fair criticism even if he scores a half century in the second innings . And between the match or after the match is irrelevant here. Best wishes for your lovely videos on YT, i do enjoy them. https://t.co/bkVGSEeg5w

It all began during the 2023 edition of the 4-match Border-Gavaskar trophy Test series. The Indian management backed KL Rahul to open for India in the first 2 Tests at Nagpur and Delhi. He failed to impress on both the tests and was dropped from the playing XI and also got stripped off his Vice-captaincy role from Red ball cricket.
Still considered by management as the second best Test opener in a country with so much batting talent. https://t.co/ipanuYBTKL

On that note former India Bolwer Venkatesh Prasad took to twitter to bash KL Rahul for his form and all sorts of things. However, Prasad did not miss out from praising the right-hand batter after he led from the front to help India win the 1st ODI against Australia from a losing situation.
Excellent composure under pressure and a brilliant innings by KL Rahul.
Top knock. Great support by Ravindra Jadeja and a good win for India.#INDvAUS pic.twitter.com/tCs74rBiLP— Venkatesh Prasad (@venkateshprasad) March 17, 2023
Rahul played out an efficient innings of 75 off 91 balls and Prasad had positive words for the batter. Apparently, Prasad said that the reason why he was criticizing Rahul was that he did not want the batter to go under the radar and perform less than her talent and ability.
“Look I’ve got great respect and regard to KL Rahul. I’ve seen him since his Under-16 days – almost for 15 years. Having followed and worked with him at different stages be in Karnataka, at NCA or with the Indian team. He was given a long rope and that’s fair enough for the kind of potential that he has. But he has not lived up to the talent that he is there. I am sure it will get better in the next few months but having said that, I have not been harsh, I had to say what I felt.
