T20 World Cup 2024 SWOT Analysis – Pakistan Squad

In the history of the T20 World Cup, Pakistan has been quite a successful team. They have reached the semi-finals in most of the editions and have come close to winning the whole thing multiple times. Pakistan made the final in 2007 but lost to India, then won the T20 World Cup in 2009, and made the final once again in 2022 but lost to England.

They are a team everyone fears playing against because they have the ability to turn the match around at any point. The Pakistan team will make a strong case for the T20 World Cup 2024 and is one of the favorites. Here we will analyze and do the SWOT analysis of their squad for the tournament.

Strengths

The most important strength of the Pakistani team is their bowling attack, especially the fast bowlers. This has been their asset since the initial days, and it is still their biggest advantage. In the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, the Pakistan roster includes some express and quality fast bowlers in Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Amir, and Abbas Afridi. They will try to play four of these five quicks, who can rattle any batting lineup in the tournament.

Weaknesses

Even after having a phenomenal bowling lineup and decent opening combination, this does not look like a title-winning team. It is because their middle order looks completely shaky, and there is a huge question mark as to who will score runs for them in the middle overs. The batters lack form and experience, and it is going to be an uphill task for them to score runs in the World Cup.

Opportunities

The biggest opportunity is for Mohammad Amir, who is back to playing international cricket after a long time, and if he gets a chance, we are certain he will take it with both hands and perform well for his team. Young players like Azam Khan and Saim Ayub also have a big opportunity.

Threats

The only threat that can be seen is that if the openers get out cheaply, putting a respectable total on the board might get difficult for the Pakistan team because of their unstable middle order.
