Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo achieved yet another milestone in his illustrious football career.

On Sunday, the 35-year-old athlete played his 1,000th official game as a professional, and in the process helped his team Juventus to a 2-0 victory over Internazionale. The match was however played at an empty Allianz Stadium in Turin, Italy due to precautionary measures taken to stop the spread of coronavirus.

As per CNN, Ronaldo however had some fun with the unusual scenario as he high-fived nonexistent fans before the game and pretended to soak up applause from the vacant stands.

As per the same report, only essential personnel were permitted to attend the game, and everyone submitted to a temperature check prior to being admitted.

Ronaldo shared his excitement with fans on Instagram after the win.

So proud to reach 1000 official games in my career with a very important victory that put us on the top of the table again!” he wrote. “Thank you to all my teammates, coaches, my family & friends and to my fans that helped me to reach this great achievement.”

In his 836 games in club football for Sporting, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus, Ronaldo has scored 626 goals.

Meanwhile, on the International stage, he’s bagged 99 in 164 for Portugal.

In the process, he’s won an incredible 31 trophies for club and country.

He has also been involved in 221 assists. Further, he has won 5 Ballon d’Or Trophies, 3 Premier League titles, 5 Champions League titles. He further has 128 Champions League goals under his kitty. Ronaldo has also won 4 Club World Cups, 2 La Ligas, 1 Serie A title, along with winning 2016 Euros and 2018/19 UEFA Nations League with Portugal.

He began his career in his native country with Sporting, where he made 31 appearances from 2002 to 2003 after which he signed for Manchester United at the age of 18.

Six seasons later, Ronaldo completed a world-record move to Real Madrid as he signed for the Spanish giants for £80 million.

In 2018, nine incredible seasons at Madrid came to an end as the Portuguese joined Juventus for £112 million.

At the age of 35, Ronaldo isn’t showing any signs of slowing down.

He’s scored 21 goals in 21 Serie A matches for Juventus this season and he looks to claim yet another league title.
