According to the former AC Milan manager Fabio Capello, AC Milan lacks the motivation that is required to play for the club when the player of stature like Zlatan Ibrahimovic is absent. The manager lamented after Zlatan was ruled for the game against Hellas Verona where the difficult times of the club are not seeming to be over as they were held by Hellas Verona for a scoreline of 1-1 in the regulation time.

Of the total 90 minutes, Hellas Verona played the last 22 with 10 men after Sofyan Amrabat was shown a red card after VAR confirmed it. However, Rossoneri couldn’t capitalize and slumped to a draw.Capello-fabio-on-ac-milan

Lamenting about the dire situation of the club, he said:

He is an important player, the point of reference for the whole team. When he’s there, two defenders are focused on him,” he told Radio Anch’Io Sport.

“I saw a timid Milan again at San Siro. When Ibrahimovic is there instead, he does different things.

“But it’s not [coach Stefano] Pioli’s fault. The players go out with fear and this means they don’t have the personality to play for Milan.”

Talking about the title challenge in Serie A, the former Scudetto winner opined that Juventus and Inter can go after a distance. However, he said that Sarri’s side must be aware of the Conte’s side and shouldn’t pin up all of their hopes on Cristiano Ronaldo.ibrahimovic ac milan

“Inter have added many players to the squad who do not make a difference like the two strikers, but who can help Conte keep things fresh until the end of the season,”

“Lazio don’t have that. They are two teams that want to try to win and this is a very important thing. Juventus must be very careful.”

Inter have signed many important players but they do not make a difference like Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku do. Juventus must be very careful. They have a better quality squad but they must not relax and always pin their hopes on Cristiano Ronaldo.”

Also, talking about the potential arrivals of players at Inter Milan, Capello opined;

“I already said yesterday that in my opinion Eriksen and Sensi have more or less the same value. Sensi is younger but has just as good vision as the Dane does. Maybe he is also more dynamic but the manager wants someone with charisma in the middle of the field and Eriksen has played in the Premier League.
