Australia is all set to host T20 World Cup in October- November however it might get postponed due to coronavirus pandemic as no one knows when this pandemic will last.

If reports are to be believed the Board of Control for Cricket in India might look to schedule IPL in that window if the T20 world cup gets postponed.

To which Mitchell Starc expressed his opinion as he said, “Do I have an issue with it? I don’t think so. They’re pre-existing contracts. There’s a lot of things that you have to go into that I assume. Cricket Australia would have to clear those guys and if they are clear to go. I don’t see a problem with it” which was quoted on cricket.com.au.

He further added that “They’re pre-existing contracts and they would have been playing anyway. There’s a different hurdle of domestic cricket there. It would be an interesting decision, not one I would have to make, so I will let them make their decisions,”.

Starc also concluded that “I would consider it. I would think about it. It would be right at the start of the domestic season as well so it would be a fair bit to consider. But I don’t currently have a contract, so I currently don’t have to worry”.

Australian players do need a clearance from CA to play in the domestic league abroad but for IPL they usually get permission as IPL is held mostly during offseason. Currently, all the cricketing activities have come to a halt due to coronavirus pandemic. IPL was slated to start from March 29 which has been suspended due to COVID 19.
