Manchester United 4-0 Norwich City : Rashford’s brace fires the hosts to a comfortable win

Manchester United’s strikeforce displayed their proficiency as the Red  Devils cruised a 4-0 victory against Norwich City in the rain at Old Trafford.

Marcus Rashford helped himself to two goals, one from the penalty kick, before Anthony Martial headed a third goal for the Old Trafford outfit, and substitute Mason Greenwood completed a good day for the hit-men department with the icing on the cake as he scored a goal in the latter stages.

Juan Mata also had a good day at the office as he was a creative part of Man United’s playing eleven on the day.

The Spaniard spotted Rashford hovering near the back post and, as he made his move, Juan Mata sent a good cross that the striker made most of it with his left boot for his 63rd United senior goal to mark his 200th-appearance milestone. Manchester United was relentless at times and outsmarted the struggling Norwich.

Brandon Williams had been causing problems to Norwich almost every time he was on the ball in the first half and it was one of his great left-flank runs that enabled United to go 2-0 up after 52 minutes. Marcus Rashford had sent him on his way with a ball into the 19-year-old’s run and goalkeeper Krul came charging out and brought the defender down in the box.

Referee Anthony Taylor needed no VAR or second glimpses at TV monitors to give the spot-kick and Rashford drilled in from 12 yards out, past a keeper who saved two penalties in the reverse fixture a few weeks ago.

Norwich goalkeeper Tim Krul had a tough outing as the shots kept on raining and goals were getting scored by the Red Devils.

Brandon Williams was impressive but left holding his head and cursing after he failed to make it 4-0 during a blistering spell. A rapid attack saw the teenager arrive on the end of a drilled low cross by Andreas, but he blazed the ball over the bar from close range as the Stretford End prepared to celebrate a fourth.

In the end, it was an all comprehensive win for the Red Devils but it’s yet another despair for Norwich as they remain at the bottom of the table.
