Jose Mourinho talks about Christian Eriksen situation

Christian Eriksen has been a subject of transfer speculation for quite a while now and his prolonged transfer could end in this transfer window.

The report state that the midfielder is closing on a €20m move to Seria A table-toppers Inter Milan.

Amid all this, Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho, while addressing this speculation, insists that Christian Eriksen will be in the Spurs’ FA Cup third-round tie against Middlesborough.

“I don’t know and I am being honest,” Tottenham boss said in the pre-match press conference.

“You know the situation, at this moment he can agree with any club for the end of the season.

“That is one option.

“Another option is a club and he wants to do a deal in January, but in that situation, our club is in control. We have control of the situation.

“Another possibility is he stays. At this moment he is here, he is our player.

“I can say Harry Kane and Ndombele will not be at Middlesbrough, I can say Christian Eriksen will be at Middlesbrough.”

If the above report is considered as a true one, then the FA Cup tie at the Riverside Stadium against Middlesborough FC could turn out to be Christian Eriksen’s farewell appearance in a Spurs jersey.

While Tottenham Hotspur has confirmed that Harry Kane has sustained an injury which will keep him out for a long.

“If you ask me just my feeling – good news or bad news – I am more on bad news than good news, that’s my feeling,” Mourinho said.

“What the player felt, Harry Kane, leaving a match, the way he did it, he didn’t think twice, it didn’t take him two seconds to realize the severity of the situation. I’m not great on grades [of hamstring tears].

I’m great at experience and feelings. I think we’re going to lose him for some period and because I am totally convinced that I can anticipate that I don’t want to be here with you crying in every press conference now. Every minute of every game he doesn’t play we miss [him] but I don’t want to be crying all the time.”

Harry Kane’s injury is certainly a big setback for Spurs in the busy run of the period.
