High-flying Wolverhampton Wanderers twice came from behind to clinch a historic victory over Tottenham Hotspur on their maiden trip to the North London club’s new home.

Mexican forward Raul Jimenez scored the winner 17 minutes from time to send the visitors into pandemonium after Matt Doherty and Diogo Jota had kept the visitors’ hopes alive earlier in the contest.

Following Steven Bergwijn’s opener, Doherty fired home from close range but the hosts led at the break after Serge Aurier curled the ball past the net in the 45th minute. However, Wolves again came back as Doherty set up Jota to square things off.

The Portuguese, however, did not stop there as he played a starring in the Wolves’ dramatic winner too. He ran in with the ball upfield before feeding Jimenez, who had the composure to cut on to his left foot and fire into the top corner to complete a stunning victory at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Romain Saiss’ wayward pass in the first half was recovered by Aurier who then crossed the ball to Alli whose effort was denied by Patricio only for Bergwijn to fire in the rebound.

However, 14 minutes later they leveled the scoreline as Ruben Vinagre’s one-two with Jota set free the former whose cross wasn’t properly cleared by Japhet Tanganga allowing Doherty to bury the chance from close range.

A flurry of late chances in the half in the meantime allowed Spurs to regain the lead as Aurier cut past Vinagre to curl into the far top corner.

After the break, Traore charged forward and fed the ball to Jimenez who quickly passed the ball to Doherty who then rolled across for Jota to tuck home from close range.

That second equalizer gave Wolves the momentum they wanted as Jota once again inspired the Wolves for the third goal. His unbelievable close control edged him past Moura to move to upfield before showing composure to pick out Jimenez, who steadied himself, chopped on to his left foot and fired into the top corner to help the visitors attain precious 3 points in the race for European qualification.

With this win, Wolves move to the sixth position with 42 points while Tottenham falls one place below to seven with 40 points in 28 matches.
