IPL 2025: Delhi Capitals vs Rajasthan Royals- Head-to-Head, Stats, and Predicted Playing 11
The capital city of Delhi brazes itself to host the upcoming Indian Premier League match between the host team Delhi Capitals and the visitors Rajasthan Royals (RR) in match No. 32 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Wednesday, April 16.
The IPL 2025 has been a roller coaster journey already and seen some interesting clashes bringing surprising results. Delhi Capitals were the only team which won its first four matches.
However, their winning streak was snapped by Mumbai Indians in their most recent fixture at the home ground itself. Delhi had the match in their hands at one stage but gave it all away as the innings progressed. From 119 runs with 1 wicket down, the Capitals were bowled out for 193 in 19 overs.
Rajasthan Royals, on the other hand, are struggling in the lower end of the points table, at number 8 as their current position. They lost their first two games before winning the next two.
However, they have been winless in their last few encounters, with the loss against Royal Challengers Bengaluru being the latest one. The Rajat Patidar-led RCB side chased a 174-run target with nine wickets and 15 balls to spare.
They will be under big pressure as losing three games consecutively at this stage can hurt their qualifier chances. RR is struggling with the form of their batters, which needs to be addressed, whereas DC also need to think about Jake Fraser-McGurk at the top, who has not quite delivered this season at all.
Both the powerful squads have faced each other in 29 matches in the history of IPL. Out of these, DC have won 14 times whereas RR have come out victorious on 15 occasions, which has made it a pretty evenly balanced contest so far.
Karun Nair’s unbelievable innings in the previous match was the highlight of their victory, and he may come in tonight as well, to contribute to his team’s performance and hopefully seal a victory for his side.
Game Condition:
The Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi can be described as a paradise for batters. The boundaries are short, and pitch is quite flat in nature. A lot of runs are expected to be scored on Wednesday. It is one of India’s smallest grounds, and the dimensions play in favor of the batting side.
The captain who wins the toss would be tempted to bat first and set up a big total on the board, only to defend it later. Unless there’s dew in the second innings, chasing massive targets is not going to a cakewalk task.
DC Predicted XI:
Abishek Porel, Faf du Plessis/Jake Fraser-McGurk, KL Rahul (WK), Tristan Stubbs, Axar Patel (C), Ashutosh Sharma, Vipraj Nigam, Mitchell Starc, Mohit Sharma/T Natarajan, Kuldeep Yadav, Mukesh Kumar
Impact Player: Karun Nair
RR Predicted XI:
Sanju Samson (C & WK), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Nitish Rana, Riyan Parag, Dhruv Jurel, Shimron Hetmyer, Wanindu Hasaranga, Jofra Archer, Maheesh Theekshana, Sandeep Sharma, Tushar Deshpande
Impact Player options: Kumar Kartikeya
