International Cricket Stadiums in Nepal, Check History and Other Details

Nepal is one of the most peaceful and beautiful countries in the world located in the Asian continent to the north of India. Nepal is also a cricket-playing nation like the majority of Asia and there is a lot of talent present in this small country.

Nepal is currently an Associate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) and has still not received the right of a full member of the ICC. They play international games in the ODI as well as the T20I format but not in the five-day format, which is played with the red ball.

There are a lot of beautiful cricket stadiums located in this small nation. Let us have a look at all of them.

  1. Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground (International Cricket Stadium)

This gorgeous stadium is located in the Kathmandu district in Kirtipur city. This stadium has a capacity of accommodating 20,000 fans and is built very well with all the modern facilities and modern infrastructure. The first One-day International match played here was in 2020 and the first T20 International match was played in December 2019.

  1. Upper Mulpani Cricket Ground (International Cricket Stadium)

This is another international cricket stadium in Nepal located in the city of Kageshwari-Manohara. It has very less capacity compared to the Tribhuvan Stadium as this ground can host only 7,000 fans at a time. Since it is recently built, the first match played here was in April 2023.

  1. Pokhara Cricket Ground (Women’s International Stadium)

Located in the city of Pokhara, Nepal has a separate international stadium for its women’s cricket team which is the Pokhara Cricket Ground. It has a capacity of 6,000 cricket spectators. Three T20I matches have been played here till now by the Nepal Women’s Cricket team with the first match being played in December 2019.

Apart from these three very beautiful stadiums, there are two stadiums in Nepal that are under construction and are being built with all the modern-day facilities and excellent drainage systems.

Gautam Buddha International Cricket Stadium is being built in Bharatpur City and it is going to be the largest stadium in Nepal with a capacity of 30,000 cricket spectators. Another stadium is under construction in Kageshwari-Manohara city with a capacity of 13,000 fans. Its name will be Mulpani Cricket Stadium.
