At the 1998 Asian Games, India made their squash debut. Though the contingent did not win any medals, their performance was worth noting and deserved a lot of praise. In 2002, Indian players performed better than in the previous edition but still could not get a medal.

India’s squash success finally received some silverware, with the men’s team taking silver and the women’s team taking bronze at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha. India’s squash players continued to excel, with the men’s team taking gold and the women’s team taking silver in the 2010 Games.
