IND Vs AUS 3rd Test : India’s Batting coach Vikram Rathour provides his thoughts on Indore’s turning track!
It seems as if the 3rd Test of the Border-Gavaskar trophy 2022/23 once again will come to an end in the third day itself. The only difference will be the winners. India after earning back-to-back Day 3 victories at Nagpur and Delhi have crumbled in front of Australia at Indore’s incredibly horrible spinning track.
Until now, foreign Pundits and fans have complained about these type of wickets but now Indian fans are also raising questions around the truly unreasonable wicket at the Holkar Stadium. The hosts had won the toss and elected to bat first and got bundled out for 109.
Innings Break!
6 wickets fell for 11 runs in the morning session as Australia are all out for 197, with a lead of 88 runs.

In the 2nd innings, Australia would put up a strong reply and by the 2nd day, the Aussies were bowled out for 163 and then started the Nathan Lyon show. The off-spinner took 8 wickets and broke the back of India’s batting line-up similar to what Matthew Kuhnemann did in the 1st innings.

Total of 14 wickets fell on Day 2 and as a result of Australia’s menacing spin performance, India was folded out for 163 and gave 76 runs for the Aussies to chase. India’s Batting coach Vikram Rathour was put under the radar for his team’s performance and he also gave his insights on the pitch.

“It was pretty late that it was decided that the game was shifted from Dharamshala to this venue, so I don’t think they got enough time to really prepare the wicket. As a team we want to play on turning tracks, this is what our strength is as a team. So it is challenging, you need to bat really well to score runs.”
