In their 122-year history, Brighton qualify for the UEFA Europa League 2023/24!

“When there’s a will, there’s a way”, EPL outfit Brighton and Hove Albion proved exactly that. In the club’s 122-year old history, it is happening for the first time that they will be playing football under European lights next season. Against the English champions last night, the Seagulls showed immense quality and played an outstanding style of football.

It is never an easy task for any team in the world to play such brilliant game against a side like Manchester City. Pep Guardiola’s side have been champions of England for the last 3 seasons and has also won the competition 5 times in the last 6 years.

Before City traveled to the Amex Stadium last night, they were on a 16-game unbeaten streak in the Premier League. Even though Brighton could not end City’s red-hot streak but that 1-1 draw must have felt like a victory. For a fact, the East Sussex based club gave Manchester City the taste of their own medicine.

Di Zerbi’s side kept their high line intact and their pressing looked much better than City’s who are known for their Press play. Brighton were fluid, quick and came to play the game with an intention to win, something that even Arsenal could not do.

But Brighton were not always like this. Mid-way through the season, the club hired Roberto Di Zerbi as a replacement for the outgoing Graham Potter who joined Chelsea and is now jobless. As it stands, no club can dethrone Brighton from the 6th spot with just one game to play.

The Seagulls have 62 points and even if they do not win in their final league match against Aston Villa, Brighton will play UEFA Europa League next season.

Brighton produce their best ever performance in EPL!

The Seagulls received promotion to the Premier League for the first time in its history at the end of the 2016-2017 season. Brighton finished in second place in the English Football League Championship, securing automatic promotion to the top flight.

Their best ever season came last year under Graham Potter when they finished 9th. But this year, no one can stope Brighton from finishing 6th. Indeed, times are special at the Amez Stadium.
