ICC reveals poster for upcoming World Cup 2023 in India using CST station backdrop

World Cup 2023

We are just more than 2 months away from witnessing the 2023 edition of the ICC Cricket World Cup take place from 5 October in India. Ahead of the 13th edition of CWC, the International Cricket Council released the official poster of the marquee event which started way back in 1975.

In the poster, National captains of all 10 Teams are stading in a line just behind the coveted World Cup trophy. Behind the players is the Iconic Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus in Mumbai, which is more than just a railway station. It is a Heritage site which has accreditation from UNESCO and it is also among the busiest stations in India and the World.

Can England defend their title in ICC Cricket World Cup 2023?

10 out of the 9 participating teams – Netherlands, Bangladesh, South Africa, Pakistan, Australia, India, Sri-Lanka, New Zealand and Afghanistan will be aiming to stop England from defending the title this year. The Three Lions landed their maiden ICC Cricket World Cup title during the previous edition in 2019 at home soil.

Eoin Morgan’s side defeated New Zealand in the most dramatic fashion to win the CWC 2019. It was for the first time that a team won the World Cup final on the basis of a greater boundary count. The memory is definitely souring for Kiwi players but they will have a chance of redemption in WC 2023 opener.

It is England Vs New Zealand on October 5 at Narendra Modi Stadium in the 1st of 48 ODIs to be played. Team India will be against Australia in their opening match before meetings with Afghanistan and Pakistan. Date for the high voltage IND Vs PAK clash are in the pipeline for a change from 15th October to a day before in 14th due to Navratri clash.

Knockout stages of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 will start from 15th November with the Finale set to go down on 19 November also at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
