Hardik Pandya reveals he didn’t step out of his house after suspension

Things are going well for Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya at this point in time. His back surgery was successful, he is in the national selectors’ notebooks again, and he has tied the knot with actress Natasha Stankovich. However, about a year or so ago, things were not as bright as it is now.

In a talk show hosted by Karan Johar, Hardik Pandya got into trouble for his misogynist and sexist comments. He was subjected to enormous criticism from all around the corner, and the BCCI also had to suspend him temporarily. Even after making a comeback, he had a tough time in the field. To top it all off, he sustained a back injury against South Africa and had to be operated.

In a show called ‘Inspiration’ organized by India Today, the all-rounder has revealed that he lived in seclusion following the Koffee With Karan row. “I still remember I did not step out of my house. It took me a week or 10 days to just realize that this is not it. You have to step out and face the things than just being in your cocoon. Whether I was going to be suspended for six months or coming back in the next game. I had no idea, it was just rumored,” said Pandya.

Pandya also gets criticized a lot for his flamboyance and extravagant off-the-field lifestyle. On that, the Baroda man stated “Lots of people take me in a very wrong way. Someone who does not know me, they think I am arrogant, I am not easy to talk to and cocky and all. I have got so many people who came to me and said, ‘we thought you were like this but you’re completely opposite.”

Virat Kohli has checked in on Pandya

Nursing a back injury, Hardik Pandya has been out of the national team for quite a while now. He has stated that skipper Virat Kohli has checked in on his heath. “I had a word with Virat. He just dropped a message, asking me how I am (after the surgery). I replied ‘I am good but I just wish that no one in the world goes through a back surgery’. I was obviously in medication and all and it was emotionally challenging as well. From lifting 100 kg I went to not being able to lift my leg,” Pandya said.
