Former Pakistan women’s skipper Sana Mir tests positive for COVID-19

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has dealt with blow as former women’s captain Sana Mir has been tested positive for COVID-19 who is part of the commentary team for the ongoing Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. As per the media reports she was shown symptoms of fever on day 3 of Quaid-e-Azam trophy final and underwent a COVID-19 test which turn out to be positive.

She has been isolated in the team hotel at the Pearl Continental hotel and didn’t travel at the stadium on the fourth day of the final. However all her fellow commentators Bazid Khan, Tariq Saeed, Ali Younis, Sikander Bakht and Sawera Pasha didn’t show any symptoms and currently asked to test themselves. PCB will take a decision about the isolation of other commentators once their test reports are out.

“A broadcaster at the #QeA20 has tested positive and has been isolated. As per PCB COVID-19 Protocols and international norms, the broadcasters are neither interacting with the players nor they are staying in the same hotel as the players,” PCB Media had tweeted.

Sana Mir who retired from cricket on 25th April 2020 after ending her illustrious career of 15 years.  As she played 102 ODI for Pakistan and clinched 151 wickets at an economy of 3.70. She has also played 102 T20I matches at an economic rate of 5.51 at an average of 23.4.

She led the national team from 2009 to 2017 also has a remarkable feat of scoring 1000 runs and claimed 100 ODI wickets to her name.
