David de Gea Biography: David de Gea is a professional footballer who represents Spain on the international stage and Manchester united at Club level. He plays in the position of a goalkeeper. De Gea was born in Madrid and started his footballing career at the age of 13. He started playing in the academy of Atletico Madrid and it was here where he first made his professional debut in the year 2009. When he was given the responsibility to be the first choice goalkeeper he helps his boyhood club to win the Europa League and also the UEFA super cup in the year 2010.
After bursting onto the scene, he caught the attention of Manchester United and was bought by the English club in the year of 2011 for a reported fee of 18.9 million. He is still plying his trade at Manchester and has now reached over 300 apps for the English side, winning a lot of trophies on the way.
EARLY LIFE:
David de Gea has the goalkeeping prowess in his blood as his father Jose was also a goalkeeper. His mother was a housewife. He is the only child and does not have any siblings. David showed his love for the game since childhood, however, his mother made him focus on his studies too and this is perhaps the reason why he is good in studies and also in football. At the early stages of his footballing days, he was an outfield player playing in a number of different positions, but at the age of 14, he finally decided to be between the sticks and defend the goal.
His game was at the top when he is between the sticks. Listing and also getting inspired by his father, he learned a lot about goalkeeping techniques. He was tall and strong and was very agile for a guy of his stature.
PERSONAL LIFE:
Although there are not many people who know about his personal life. He is not married and rumors of having a girlfriend have also not been heard anywhere. He is a very hardworking goalkeeper who trains a lot and always wants to be at the top of his game. His father hose and his mother Marivi has always helped him in moving forward in his career.
PROFESSIONAL LIFE:
He started his footballing life in Madrid and was there for a very long time. Following his brilliant performances at the youth level, he was pushed into the first team. He had his best season st the year of 2010. Following his brilliant saves and heroic displays he was bought by Manchester and has made the goalkeeping position his own. He has been consistently performing well at the English club and has won the best player of Manchester United for three years in a row.
At the international level, he was second Fidel to the great Iker Casillas who was irreplaceable for Spain. But when given the opportunity he showed his class at the international level as well against the best national sides.
