Cricket South Africa to expedite the return of their players from IPL

Cricket South Africa said that they are in contact with BCCI to expedite the return of their players from the ongoing season of IPL 2021.

As the cash-rich league has been suspended now for an indefinite period of time.

In a statement, the IPL said it had “unanimously decided” to suspend the season after an emergency meeting due to an increase in coronavirus cases among players.

CSA appreciated the efforts from BCCI to stop the league to make sure players taking part in the cash-rich league remain safe and head back to their respective countries.

In total 11 players are taking part in IPL 2021 including the likes of Chris Morris who is the most expensive player in the history of IPL.

“Those traveling back to South Africa will undergo home quarantine in line with the current World Health Organization recommendations,” CSA added.

“CSA and the South African Cricketers Association (SACA) are in contact with all players and are assured of their safety and comfort in their respective locations.

CSA wishes to extend its well wishes and support to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the people of India and thank the BCCI for keeping our players safe during this challenging time.”
