BCCI to shadow ban cricketers from Bangladesh and Sri Lanka from IPL. Here’s the complete detail

Shakib al hasan

The Bangladeshi and Sri Lankan cricket teams’ refusal to compete in the whole IPL season has angered the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

Due to their players’ tardiness in receiving NOCs (No Objection Certificates) from their boards, this has been occurring for the past few years.

Considering the fact, there are only three Bangladeshi players including the likes of Shakib Al Hasan, Liton Das and Mustafizur Rehman are selected to play cash-rich league and they will only play till 5th May post that if their team qualifies for the next round they will no longer be serving their franchise due to their international commitments.

Based on interview given by inside sources from IPL franchise, in different media outlets stats that the franchise owners and BCCI is not happy with this instance from BCB and they would most likley to ban their respective players from IPL in the upcoming season.

ā€œIt is what it is. We canā€™t complain because itā€™s the BCCI that negotiates with other boards. But of course, franchises will be sceptical about picking players from certain countries. If you see, Taskin (Ahmed) did not get the NOC and now this. If they donā€™t want their players to play, they should not register. But, for sure, the perception about Bangladeshi players will change in future,ā€franchise officials told this while talking to local media outlets.Ā

When it comes to Sri Lankan players, the situation is pretty worse as only Bhanuka Rajapaksha will be available for the entire tournament other players from the island nation will be joining their respective franchise from second week onwards.

If reports, from different media outlets are to believed, Franchise will wait and see how things unfold this year and based on their observation they will be taking call next year for IPL 2024 auction and if the stance from these cricket board players continues like this you would soon not see any players from Bangladesh and Sri Lanka taking part in the cash rich league.
