India & Pakistan to play World Cup Match in New Delhi; Reports

All these reports of Pakistan demanding to play a World Cup match at neutral venue is irrelevant and based on new reports from different media outlets, stated that the high-profile game between India and Pakistan will take place in New Delhi considering the relevance of Wagah border based on outskirts of Punjab and it will be easier for fans in Pakistan to travel India for the marquee event.

However we are still waiting for the official a confirmation regarding this news is yet to come.

The tentative dates for 50 over World Cup is circulating on social media which is between October 5th 2023 to November 19th 2023.

However ICC is yet to announce the fixture and venues in few days.

When ICC inside sources had a conversation with Telegraph regarding whether Pakistan Cricket Board have discussed with them to held their matches in Kolkata and Chennai to which they responded “They haven’t received any such request at all”.

The high profile game might be played in New Delhi considering the magnitude of the tournament.

However there have been 12 venues who have been shortlisted for the upcoming marquee event.

These venues include- Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Guwahati, Rajkot, Mumbai, Calcutta, Dharamshala and Indore.

“Delhi being the capital is used to hosting high-profile guests and handling adequate security arrangements. The Pakistan team has previously stayed in Delhi without any problems. Moreover, its proximity to the Wagah border would allow their supporters to watch the matches,” a source told The Telegraph on Tuesday.

Also talks about favouring Eden Gardens is more prominent as it has already hosted Indo-Pak Clash in 2016 World Cup where India won the game due to heroics of Kohli.

Another high profile game between these two countries was  played in Mohali 2011 where again India prevailed as the winner against arch rivals Pakistan.

However, BCCI officials have already clarified that there will be no visa issues for Pakistan players and they will be given permission without any problem.
