BCCI invites application for the post of Women’s team head coach

The Board of Control for Cricket in India is looking to bring change in the management of Indian women’s team as they have invited an application for the post of head coach as the current coach WV Raman whose tenure ended last year but was asked by the world richest cricket board to extend his tenure till the recently concluded South Africa series.

The BCCI has released the advertisement for the post on their official site. According to the application the candidates have to fulfill certain criteria to become eligible for the post which includes representing India or any other country at the International level or the one who has NCA Level ‘C’ certified coach certificate along with playing minimum 50 first class games.

The responsibility of the coach who will be selected is to work with all the staff and build plans to develop a strong women’s national team. The person selected at this post has to ensure that the fitness parameters are not comprised at all and it is adhered by the standards set by NCA.

As per the quote from one of the BCCI official WV Raman is planning to re-apply for the post.

“As far as I know, WV will be applying for the post. Under his guidance, the women’s team reached the finals of the World T20. And don’t forget this series against South Africa was the first in one year. He is well within his rights to re-apply and I believe he remains a strong contender,’ a senior BCCI official told as quoted by sportzwiki

Apart from head coach for the Indian women’s national team BCCI is looking to fill the post of the national selector of junior men’s team too.
