The M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru bore witness to an unexpected upset as the UP Warriorz pulled off a stunning victory over defending champions Mumbai Indians. Chasing a modest target of 161/6, the UP Warriorz secured a convincing 7-wicket win, registering their first victory of the WPL 2024 season.

The Alyssa Healy-led UP Warriorz defeated MI by 7 wickets on matchday 6 to secure their maiden WPL 2024 victory. Despite facing a high bar set by MI, the Warriorz put on an incredible batting show, and they deserve all the credit for their accomplishment, thanks to Healy Matthews.
When UP Warriorz decided to start Kiran Navgire as their opening batsman, it caused a bit of uproar but ultimately paid off.

Issy Wong had a great bowling innings, but the MI bowlers gave up a lot of runs, which turned out to be the game-winning factor.
In the end, Grace Harris orchestrated a commanding conclusion to secure a 7-wicket victory for UPW.

Mumbal secured a competitive score thanks to a brilliant fifty from Hayley Matthews and some strong late-inning contributions from Amelia Kerr, Pooja Vastrakar, and Issy Wong. UP bowled effectively, with each of their bowlers contributing one wicket. The Kiran Navgire presentation was the one that made the pursuit appear effortless. Although they made some mistakes in the midst, their middle order hitters made sure they won this time.

Mumbal, though, will be dissatisfied with their bowling performance. They were unable to obtain the early discoveries or to halt the run’s progression. They simply lacked responses to Kiran Navgire’s barrage. Wong succeeded in getting Alyssa Healy and Tahlia McGrath in the same over after Amelia Kerr succeeded in getting her out, but they were unable to capitalise on that victory. They missed a few opportunities in the middle, much like UP, and it ultimately cost them the game.

Kiran Navgire took on the bowlers from the first over, giving UP a perfect start. The decision to send her to start the innings was a huge success for UP. Playing second fiddle to her, Alyssa Healy took in the spectacle from the opposite side. Watching Navgire bat in this game was entertaining as she hammered the ball all around the park. Navgire bulldozed her way to a half-century, and UP scored the highest Powerplay of the season.

The openers scored 94 for the first wicket, breaking the back of the pursuit, but she fell after hitting 54 off just 31 balls. They went from 94-0 to 98-3, which made them a little nervous, but Deepti Sharma and Grace Harris exhibited incredible fortitude by keeping their opponents from getting back into the game. They each finished unbeaten at 27 and 38, respectively, and crossed the finish line with 21 balls remaining.
