He is one who discovered the art of swing bowling played a pivotal role in Pakistan’s maiden series win against arch-rivals India and England during 1978-79.  He is a pillar of Pakistan’s bowling line-up from 1969 to 1984 and was instrumental for Pakistan emerging as a fast bowling hub at the international cricketing arena. 6.6 inches tall and lanky fast bowler made his debut against England in 1969 and played his final test match against same England in 1984. He was the major reason for Pakistan’s triumph against Australia, England, and India during that time. He also made his mark in one-day internationals too as he accounted 63 wickets in 45 matches for Pakistan. After his retirement in 1984, he joined in politics and served as an independent member of the provincial assembly of Punjab. He was again in headlines by his allegations against the Pakistani player’s involvement spot-fixing scandals that led to the death of Bob Wolmer during 2007 world cup.
