‘It Felt like I was playing Playstation game’-Will Pucovski on facing Jasprit Bumrah

Australia opening batsman Will Pucovski revealed in his recent interview that facing Indian speedster Jasprit Bumrah in the recent Border-Gavaskar Trophy was pretty similar to playing a Playstation game for him.

Pucovski who got an opportunity to open the innings with David Warner on the third Test match at Sydney against India and missed out his outing in last and final Test match at the Gabba after sustaining a shoulder injury.

Pucovski talked about facing Bumrah  in his recent interaction with Cheese Toasties in detail.

“I actually genuinely felt like I like was playing PlayStation game, it was like International Cricket 2011 or something on PlayStation. They had this view, so I still remember faking illness to get a day off school when the game came out,” Pucovski told.

Pucovski who has a batting average of 53.41, mentioned that he would play as Shane Watson, the former Aussie all-rounder, in the PlayStation game.

“I loved Shane Watson at that time. So, whenever Shane Watson was opening the batting and they had this new view. I thought it was pretty cool where you were like a bit of a spider cam above the batter, so you’d be almost facing.

“Still, I had played a PlayStation game there, getting Shane Watson a 100 on Ashes cricket whatever year it was when I skipped a day of school. So, I still remember it, and I was like I genuinely remember sitting there Bumrah was at the top of his mark, and I’m like I know this because this is what happened when I was facing England with Shane Watson,” he added.

Pucovski impressed selectors with his debut outing in red ball cricket scored 62 runs off 110 balls against India and was looking all set for big hundred but Navdeep Saini cut short his stay in the middle.
