IPL 2023 : Nitish Rana, Hrithik Shokeen and Surya Kumar fined by BCCI for this reason!

During the recently finished Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match between the two past champions at the Wankhede Stadium, stand-in skipper for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Nitish Rana, and bowler for Mumbai Indians (MI), Hrithik Shokeen, got into a physical altercation.

The IPL’s Code of Conduct was broken in match No. 22 of the lucrative competition on Sunday, and the MI and KKR players received punishment.

Suryakumar Yadav, an Indian batsman who led Mumbai Indians against KKR in the IPL 2023 match, was also punished for violating the IPL Code of Conduct. The IPL has fined Suryakumar for playing with a sluggish over rate in Mumbai’s home match against the defending champions.

In accordance with the IPL’s Code of Conduct regarding minimum over-rate offences, stand-in skipper Surya Kumar was fined Rs. 12 lakh because it was Mumbai’s first offence of the season.

Although it was a good day at the office for Mumbai Indians who earned only their 2nd win of the IPL this season but fines and sanctions made things quite awkward. Their young player Hritik Shokeen after getting rid of Nitish Rana for just 5 off 10 balls, breached Level 1 offence of Article 2.5 according to the IPL’s Code of conduct.

Shokeen might have said some Bad words which Nitish Rana did not like. The latter was seen pointing his finder towards Shokeen as he replied with menace while stand-in captain Surya Kumar Yadav was trying to calm Nitish Rana down.

But after all the heated altercation, Mumbai Indians secured a 5-wicket win at home. KKR Batter Venkatesh Iyer guided his side to quite an unsafe total nowadays – 186 enroute the left-handed batter’s 104 off 51 balls. Had any batter decided to stick with Iyer, KKR would have scored 200+ plus in the red soil of Wankhede.

Later on Rohit Sharma came in as the Impact player but was removed by KKR’s impact man Suyash Sharma for 20 runs. But Kishan played out a good partnership with Surya Kumar Yadav while Tilak Verma and Tim David finished off a good night for Mumbai Indians who are now in the 2nd spot in the standings.

This is an updating story!
