Gerrie Snyman Biography
Former cricket player Gerrie Snyman was born in Namibia on April 30, of the year 1981 and represents the national cricket team of Nambia on the international level. Gerrie Snyman bowls right-arm medium-fast and bats right-handed. Gerrie Snyman participated in the 2005 ICC Trophy as well as five One Day Internationals (ODIs) at the 2003 Cricket World Cup. Gerrie Snyman has also participated in first-class and List A cricket. Cricketer Snyman ended his career in the month of February of the year 2018.
Playing Cricket Career
Gerrie Snyman scored his first professional century against Easterns in the month of January of the year 2007, and eleven months later, in the ICC World Cricket League, Gerrie Snyman defeated Uganda with a five-wicket innings. Snyman signed with Staffordshire for the year 2007 after playing for Walsall in the Birmingham League during the year 2006.
Before joining Walsall Cricket Club for the 2006 and 2007 seasons, Gerrie played for Tamworth Cricket Club as an international player in 2003 and 2004. Gerrie Snyman was a key member of the Birmingham League Premier Division champion team in the year 2006. Gerrie Snyman also participated in three Second XI Championship games for Worcestershire and Warwickshire in the years 2006 and 2007.
Snyman smashed a then-record 17 sixes in a single limited overs innings during a match against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on November 28, of the year 2007, resulting in a total score of 196 off 113 balls.
In the 2007–2008 ICC Intercontinental Cup, Gerrie Snyman reached his first-ever double century in first-class play against the cricket team of Kenya. Snyman scored 230 runs in just 201 deliveries, including 11 sixes. Gerrie Snyman’s performance was even more impressive as Namibia was shut out for 282, giving him 82% of the team’s total while Michael Durandt, the second-highest scorer, only made 13. In the 2011–13 ICC Intercontinental Cup, Snyman duplicated the feat against the same opposition 4 years later, scoring 201 not out from 192 deliveries, including 7 sixes.
Gerrie Snyman was included in the squad for the match that followed the 2007–2008 ICC Intercontinental Cup.
