Australian pacer Peter Siddle signs new deal with Tasmania for the 2020-21 season

Australia fast bowler Peter Siddle signed a two-year contract with Tasmania for 2020-21 season. The 35-year-old speedster retired from International cricket in December last year.

He was previously contracted with Cricket Victoria and has played Test Cricket for Australia for 11 years which is from 2008 to 2019. After bagging a new contract he is delighted and he said he will give his best to win games for his side.

He said “My greatest goal is to come to Tasmania and play good cricket, while hopefully winning a few games which will be my biggest aim. There are a few players down here that I have played a lot of cricket with, and there is a bunch of younger players that I am looking forward to playing alongside”.

Peter Siddle also talks about that playing for Tasmania is like playing for my home and how it aligns with the next step in his playing carrier where he added that “It’s a great opportunity for me while I am still playing to work alongside Griff. I want to develop my coaching skills further and help some of the younger boys who have already shown a great amount of talent”.

However few players like all-rounder James Faulkner, Gurinder Sandhu, and Simon Milenko have been left out from the Tasmania contract list. We need to wait and watch how Siddle performs for Tasmania when the game resume post-COVID 19.
