The Danish esports powerhouse, Astralis, has announced its choice to depart from the Nasdaq First North Growth Market Denmark stock exchange. This strategic move garnered strong support from shareholders during an Extraordinary General Meeting convened on August 8. The organization intends to initiate the formal process of delisting and has conveyed its intention to provide further updates in the near future.

Astralis, which embarked on its public journey following an Initial Public Offering (IPO) in December 2019, has observed a marked decline in its share values since that juncture. Initially valued at 8.95 DKK ($1.31 USD) per share, the stock price has dwindled to 0.81 DKK ($0.12 USD) in the present context. The forthcoming delisting is anticipated to yield a substantial annual cost reduction of approximately 3 million DKK ($440,000 USD) for Astralis across a spectrum of operational expenses.
Astralis’ Delisting Pursuit: Financial Growth, Strategic Alliances, and Esports Eminence
With the delisting initiative, Astralis aspires to bolster its financial performance for the benefit of its shareholders, in tandem with creating avenues for fresh investment opportunities. The organization’s financial report for the year 2022 underscores promising strides as compared to the preceding year. Notably, their net revenue ascended from 75 million DKK ($11.01 million USD) in 2021 to an impressive 87.5 million DKK ($12.85 million USD) in 2022. Furthermore, a significant turnaround was evident in their EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) figures, transitioning from a deficit of -7.9 million DKK (-$1.16 million USD) in 2021 to a positive 2.6 million DKK ($380,000 USD) in 2022.
Established in 2016, Astralis has notably etched its prominence through its men’s CS:GO team, which currently holds an esteemed global ranking of 6th. The organization has forged strategic partnerships with major players in the CS:GO arena, including ESL and BLAST, underscoring its significant footprint in the competitive gaming landscape.
