The last time when Manchester United travelled to Goodison Park, United were thrashed 4-0. Describing the defeat as the lowest point of his career, Ole Gunnar Solkjaer has also assured that the team will produce a much better performance ahead of the clash against Everton on Sunday.

“That was the lowest I have been. I think you all know that and remember that. It was a capitulation. We had nothing about us.” Ole was quoted as saying in Sky Sports.

“Everything that we didn’t want to see, we saw in that game. Against Everton at home, they are hard to play against with the two strikers up-front and they get players into the box.

“I’m 100 per cent sure we will put in a better performance this time.”

The effect of the defeat was so severe that the United Boss even decided to call time to one or two of their players and thought to not give them further chances to prove their credentials.

“That was the day, the lowest. I knew probably before then but one or two had their last chance, more or less.”

Nevertheless, Manchester United are coming off with a thumping 5-0 against Club Bruges on Friday. Odion Ighalo scored his first goal for Manchester United as he helped his side sail through the last 16 of Europa League.

Bruno Fernandes netted his second penalty of the season, while Scott McTominay marked his return with a goal as well.

The Norwegian was proud of the team’s performance and also heaped praise on new midfielder Bruno Fernandes who seems to have become the new penalty scorer for Manchester United.

“When I took him off, obviously he didn’t want to come off, he just loves football,” Solskjaer added.

“He has so much enthusiasm. His smile. He just wants to be out there, he wants to be better.

“I tried to send him inside [when subbed off] because it was cold, but he didn’t want to, he wanted to watch. He just loves football. He’ll know everything about football and football is everything for him.”
