Umar Akmal to return to competitive tournament after paying a fine of PKR 4.2 Million

Umar Akmal who was once considered as one of the best batters have lost his nick in last few years as he was banned under PCB Anti Corruption Code for refusing to report fixing approaches by bookies.

He was officially suspended on 20th February 2020 by the PCB  right-hander, Akmal will once again become eligible to return back to the competitive arena, after completing a rehabilitation program as prescribed by the PCB Anti-Corruption Code.

For that the ace batsman Akmal has to pay a fine of PKR 4.2 million. This news was confirmed by PCB and urged all players to report any corruption activity in the future and immediately inform PCB rather than delaying it.

They further added that if the activities are reported to them it would help us to eliminate the “anathema “of fixing.

“The PCB once again urges and remind all participants to abide by their duty and promptly report any approaches to the anti-corruption offices and help themselves as well as the anti-corruption unit effort to eliminate the anathema of fixing,” read a statement released by the PCB.

Akmal so far has played 121 ODIs and 84T20Is where he scored 3194 runs in shortest format will be eagerly waiting to wear the Pakistan Jersey again but for that he need to pay PKR 4.2 million rupees.
