Kabaddi
An Indian contact sport mixing tag and wrestling. A raider enters the opponents' half, tries to touch defenders and get back to their own half in one breath, while the defenders try to tackle them. Pro Kabaddi League, launched in 2014, turned it into a prime-time TV sport.
Right now
India won both kabaddi golds at the 2026 Asian Games. In PKL Season 12, Puneri Paltan and Dabang Delhi K.C. tied on top of the league stage with 26 points each.
How it works
- A raider earns a point for each defender touched before getting back to the midline.
- Defenders earn a point by stopping the raider from returning. A super tackle (with three or fewer defenders) earns 2.
- Crossing the bonus line with a foot while a defender is in play gives the raider a bonus point.
- Wiping out the whole opposing team (an 'all out') earns 2 extra points, and the team is revived.
