Durgesh Netam, who was born in Bilaspur, Chattisgarh, began playing kabaddi with his brother at a very young age. Durgesh later played for the local team Chingraj Para Bilaspur, where he was regarded as the finest raider in the city.

Durgesh Netam, a raider who was raised in Bilaspur, is among the recently nominated NYP batch. Durgesh travelled all the way from Chhattisgarh to the PKL after his team, Dr. CV Raman University, won the prestigious bronze medal at the Khelo India University Games in 2022.
