Who we are
SportzCraazy is the Data Fiduciary for personal data collected through this website. This policy explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it and the rights you have.
What we collect
We collect only what we need for the purposes below:
- Account details: your name, email address and, if you sign in with Google, your Google profile picture.
- Preferences: the teams you follow, newsletter and alert settings.
- Orders: name, delivery address, phone number and order history. Card and UPI details are handled by our payment processor, Razorpay; we never see or store them.
- Contributor applications: name, email, writing sample and the details you choose to share.
- Usage data: pages viewed and approximate country (derived from your IP address, which we do not store with your page views).
- Device data for push alerts: a browser push subscription token, if you turn alerts on.
Why we use it (purposes and legal basis)
We process personal data on the basis of your consent, which you give when you create an account, subscribe, place an order, turn on alerts or accept non-essential cookies, or for legitimate uses permitted by the DPDP Act, such as fulfilling an order you placed or meeting a legal obligation.
- To provide your account, personalised home page and score alerts.
- To deliver orders, send order emails and handle returns.
- To send the 7am Pulse newsletter if you subscribed.
- To measure readership and pay contributors their revenue share (aggregated, not linked to you).
- To show advertising, personalised only if you consent through our cookie banner.
- To keep the site secure and prevent abuse.
Cookies and advertising
Essential cookies keep you signed in and remember your cart and theme. Analytics and advertising cookies (Google Analytics and Google AdSense) are only set after you accept them in the cookie banner. We use Google Consent Mode v2, so Google services receive your choice. You can change it at any time from “Cookie settings” in the footer.
Who we share it with
We share personal data only with service providers (Data Processors) who act on our instructions:
- Razorpay (payments) and Qikink (printing and delivery of merchandise orders).
- Resend (email delivery), Supabase (database hosting), Vercel (website hosting) and Upstash (caching).
- Google (sign-in, analytics and advertising, subject to your consent) and Sentry (error monitoring, without personal content).
How long we keep it
Account data is kept while your account is active and deleted within 30 days of closing it. Order records are kept for 8 years to meet tax law. Newsletter data is deleted when you unsubscribe. Usage data is aggregated and the raw records are deleted within 90 days.
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you can:
- Ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it.
- Correct, complete or update your data.
- Erase your data, and withdraw consent at any time (as easily as you gave it). Withdrawal does not affect processing done before it.
- Nominate another person to exercise these rights if you die or become incapacitated.
- Raise a grievance with us, and if unresolved, complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
SportzCraazy is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly create accounts for them, track them or target ads at them. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Security and breaches
We use encryption in transit, access controls and least-privilege access for staff. If a personal data breach occurs, we will inform affected users and the Data Protection Board as the DPDP Act requires.
