He defeated Roderick Strong to advance to the tournament finals, however, he was defeated in a number one contender’s fatal four-way match also involving Aleister Black, Johnny Gargano, and Killian Dain. He also challenged NXT Champion Aleister Black for his championship at NXT TakeOver: Chicago II, but was unsuccessful in his battle against Black. Sullivan was expected to make his debut on WWE Raw in late 2018, however, his debut was delayed due to his suffering from an anxiety attack the week he was supposed to debut.
In 2018, Sullivan stepped foot into WWE Raw and attacked WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle followed by other superstars like R-truth, The Hardy Boyz and Rey Mysterio. Later, he moved to Smackdown after Superstar Shake-up took place in WWE for Raw and Smackdown brands.
At Super ShowDown, Sullivan competed in. 3-on-1 Handicap match against Lucha House Party, where he came out as winner however he was forced to out of action due to his knee injury for 9 months. The latest update revealed that his injury seems more serious than they first thought. Lars is reportedly undergoing an MRI to determine the extent of the injury
