It has been more than 22 years since Undertaker and Kane were showcased as half-brothers in the WWF (World Wrestling Federation) in the storyline portrayed to link different wrestlers. Although they are not related to each other in real life, fans love to see the sweet and sour relationship in the ring.
Back Story of the Destruction Brothers
It all started when Undertaker won the WWE Championship in 1996 at WrestleMania. His ex- manager Paul Bearer tried to reunite with the Undertaker in Raw is War, but undertaker rejects his offer. The reason behind the rejection was Paul Bearer, who betrayed Undertaker in the 1996 Summer Slam.
The rejection didn’t go well with the Paul Bearer, he joined the hand with Undertaker arch nemesis Mankind and launched the fireball on the dead man face. Undertaker was injured and avenged by launching his own fireball on his manager’s face on April Revenger of the Taker match.
The controversy boiled for a month until Mankind re-introduced Paul Bearer in the ring on May 12. His face was severely bandaged due to burns, but Bearer still tried his best to collide, not due to an old friendship, but threatening dead man to reveal his darkest secret in the public.
Bearer hinted Undertaker about his black childhood, connecting all the dots with a fire ball attack on him. The dark secret was that Undertaker mother had an affair with Paul Bearer and conceived a child name Kane, the illegitimate half-brother of Undertaker. For many years Undertaker and his father didn’t know about the truth and treated Kane as a family member Bearer revealed the truth that he is Kane’s father in front of Raw audience.
He was discussing the truth with Jerry Lawler on Monday night raw, during the commercial play, but the camera hadn’t stopped rolling and everything was heard by the fans.
According to the backstory, when Undertaker knew the truth, he killed his parents, blotch Kane’s face and put his funeral home on fire. Bearer somehow survived the attack, took Kane away and undergrounded him in a mental asylum till his adolescence.
Undertaker looked threatened after the Bearer confession and accepted his offer for managing him this time. When things smoothen, Bearley became a bully spineless man trying to dictate Undertaker on his terms. He always threatened Undertaker of revealing the truth to the public.
Eventually, Undertaker lost his cool and sidelined Bearer for managing him any longer. Bearer revealed the dark secret to the public, Undertaker denied all the allegations and put all the blame on Kane. Bearer declared Undertaker not only a brutal murderer but a talented liar. Undertaker looked relaxed, he knew Kane is dead until the truth was revealed.
His eyes were popped and jaws were dropped, Bearer introduced Kane to the world at Bad Blood: In Your House on October 5, 1997. The character of Kane wore a mask to hide the scars, flaunting long hairs and wore a black and red dress. Since then, we as a fan know what occurred in the ring for the last 22 years.
