Shikhar Dhawan was earlier tied with the three batsmen as Suresh Raina, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, all had scored 38 half-centuries in IPL.

During the game between Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals, Dhawan played a sensational knock of 53 runs off 33 balls and, with that, brought up the 39th half-century of his IPL career. Shikhar Dhawan gave a powerful start at the top and thereby helped Delhi reach a competitive total of 161 in 20 overs. They eventually won the game by 13 runs.

Shikhar Dhawan was getting starts in the tournament but wasn’t able to convert them into big scores. The southpaw, however, has done that in the last two games. In the previous game against Mumbai Indians, Dhawan scored an unbeaten knock of 69 runs off 52 balls, including 5 fours.

Shikhar Dhawan now has 39 half-centuries to his name in IPL but is yet to score a century. It remains to be seen whether he would be able to accomplish the feat this year or not. In his illustrious IPL career, Dhawan has scored 4873 runs at an average of 33.59.

In the list of leading run-scorer in IPL 2020, Shikhar Dhawan has moved to seventh position. He has scored 258 runs at an average of 36.86 thus far in the tournament.
