The Indian Premier League is all set to resume the action from September 19th onwards. The glamorous and cash-rich Indian Premier League is all set to restart in the United Arab Emirates after the first half of the campaign came to a halt due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the camp. Few players reported the discomfort initially but the games went on to continue. When Varun Chakravarthy and other players tested positive, the league had to come to a halt.

When the Indian Premier League 2021 came to a halt, six IPL teams had played seven games whereas Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings had played eight games. When the tournament came to a halt, Delhi Capitals, Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Mumbai Indians were in the top four in the points table. Rajasthan Royals were fifth whereas Punjab Kings were sixth on the points table. Struggling Sunrisers Hyderabad had the wooden spoon with just two points whereas Kolkata Knight Riders are struggling to keep up the pace in the league with just two points.

At the end of the day, every Indian Premier League team fan has one question. Who will be the top 4 teams of the IPL 2021? Though we have seen multiple teams staging the comeback in the Indian Premier League in the final games of the campaign, the restart will take on several teams and will take time to adjust. Delhi Capitals
Delhi Capitals have 12 points from eight games with a good net run rate to their name. The team has the squad depth and no player has withdrawn from the Indian Premier League. WIth Shreyas Iyer returning to the squad, Delhi Capitals are one of the sides looking strong to finish in the top four of IPL 2021. Rishabh Pant, Prithvi Shaw, and Shreyas Iyer along with the foreign contingent will have a key role to play in the second half of the tournament.
Chennai Super Kings
Chennai Super Kings are placed second in the points table with ten points from seven games. They have a superior net run rate of +1.23 at the end of the first half of the Indian Premier League campaign. After losing a game at the start of the campaign, Chennai Super Kings have taken off perfectly and are frontrunners to finish in the top two spots as well. With multiple players returning to the squad, Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be a happy person. Also, the recent form of Ravindra Jadeja and Shardul Thakur is an exciting prospect for MSD.
Royal Challengers Bangalore
Royal Challengers Bangalore have the same number of points in the league as that of Chennai Super Kings but have a poor run rate. They will look to return to the positive net run rate side when they restart. The rejuvenated players will be key to RCB’s first title aspirations along with their top-four hopes.
Mumbai Indians
Mumbai Indians have eight points to their name from seven games after an initial slump in the league. Though they have a strong team at their disposal, their inability to get going might be a cause of concern for the team. Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings will also view for the top four spots but it will be Mumbai Indians who can finish in the top four.
