1. Bengaluru Bulls lost against Bengal Warriors despite leading at half-time –ย In Match day 41 of Pro Kabaddi League season 9, season 6 PKL winners Bengaluru Bulls lost to season 7 champions Bengal Warriors by a narrow margin of only 3 points. It was somehow a must win game for the Warriors in order to keep their play-off hopes alive and prior to this win, they were languishing at the 9th spot. However, they now sit 5th in points table with 48 points to their name. This match, meanwhile was not always going in favor of the Bengal Warriors as they were trailing by 18-22 when the first-half concluded. In the second-half, it was not just a matter of luck and fate as the Warriors produced an amazing comeback and turned the game on its head. A Super 10 by Captain Maninder Singh took the limelight away from Bengaluru Bulls’ raider Bharat’s Super 10 as the former performed for a winning cause. Maninder received support from Shrikant Jadhav but the defense should be given a lot of credits as well. Girish Maruti Ernak – the main defender for Bengal Warriors scored an High 5 and ended the night with 6 tackle points. Thorough support from Balaji D, Manoj Gowda and Shubham Shinde paved the way for Bengal Warriors to win the game.

2. Night for the defenders – In Pro Kabaddi League season 9, we have seen a lot of times that influential performances by Raiders is not enough to get over the winning line as effective performances by defenders are also crucial for a team’s victory. Last night, Bengal Warriors left corner Girish Maruti Ernak proved to be extremely assertive for his side’s narrow victory. He ended the night with 6 tackle points and took his tally to 45 tackle points in season 9 making him the 4th most successful defender this season. Girish achieved another milestone last night as he became the 3rd most successful defender in the entirety of the Pro Kabaddi League as he completed 350 tackle points. His opponents Bengaluru Bulls’ defender Mahender Singh also achieved a similar milestone as he completed 250 tackle points in his respective PKL career but failed to help his side get a win.

3. Arjun Deshwal’s 19 raid points goes in vain as season 1 champions lost against league leaders – Match number 96 of PKL season saw inaugural champions Jaipur Pink Panthers crash out against league leaders Puneri Paltan by 32-39. Both the teams equally deserved to win the game and Jaipur Pink Panthers looked like a very good team early on with main raider Arjun Deshwal completing his Super 10 and finished the night with 19 raid points. However, other raiders like Rahul Chaudhari and Bhavani Rajput gathered only 6 raid points for their side which enabled the opposition to win the match with ease.
