Shivam Mavi Early Life
Shivam Mavi was born on 26 November 1998 in the city of Noida, Uttar Pradesh. He was passionate about the game of Cricket since his early childhood. Mavi is the newest addition to India’s bowling attack from Meerut, the city has seen the likes of Praveen Kumar and Bhuvneshwar Kumar play for the Indian team.

He performed exceptionally well for the Delhi under 14 teams but was not selected for the under 16 squads which left him devastated. However, he did not lose hope and switched bases to greater Noida and started playing for the Delhi Wanderers Cricket Academy. There he was accompanied by senior players in Anureet Singh and Parvinder Awana, which boosted his development.
He caught the attention of Rahul Dravid while training in the National Cricket Academy camp. The England under 19 teams was touring India and this is when Mavi made his debut for India U-19 against them in the 4th ODI on 6th February 2017. He managed to pick up two wickets from his 5 overs while conceding 36 runs.
He came into the limelight while playing his second Test match for the U-19 national squad when he rescued his side with the bat rather than the ball, scoring a magical 86 against England U-19 in the first innings and then chipped in with the ball in the second innings taking 3 wickets to help India win the match by 97 runs.
His performances at the U-19 level impressed Rahul Dravid and as a result, he was selected in the India U 19 World Cup team in 2018. He also lifted the trophy defeating Australia in the final. He finished the match with 1 wicket in 8.2 overs and 46 runs.
In the IPL Auction in January 2018 he was sold for three crore INR to Kolkata Knight Riders becoming one of the few youngsters to command a fee in crores.
