Sunrisers Hyderabad is in a poor position on the points table but was able to qualify for the knockouts last time. So, the skipper of Sunrisers Hyderabad cannot be ranked as the worst captain this year. But, it’s true that the Deccan outfit replaced their skipper owing to bad results at the start of the campaign.

Eoin Morgan took the responsibilities from Dinesh Karthik after Dinesh Karthik failed to get his team to a flying start. As the Indian Premier League 2020 progressed, Kolkata Knight Riders were almost out of the competition and the team management decided to replace the skipper.
In Indian Premier League 2021, under Eoin Morgan’s captaincy, Kolkata Knight Riders have failed to keep up the tempo. The team was off to a winning start to the campaign only to find themselves in the middle as the season progressed. Not only did the team perform poorly, but captain Morgan’s choices were poor. On a batting surface, he decided to bat first whereas he let the team down when his batting prowess was needed in the dying embers of the game.
The lack of communication with Kuldeep Yadav hurt the team’s combination and the chances of winning the games at crucial junctures. In the game against Royal Challengers Bangalore, he decided to give the ball to Andre Russel when AB de Villiers was at strike. The poor decision affected the total score of RCB. However, Eoin Morgan will not be playing for Kolkata Knight Riders in the second half of the Indian Premier League. He follows the suit of multiple English players like Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, and Dawid Malan.
It remains interesting to see how Kolkata Knight Riders fare under the new captain as the skipper is yet to be appointed even after the team is in the United Arab Emirates.
