Playing for the Sunrisers Hyderabad, Dhawan carries his bat in the first innings, hitting 10 fours and 1 six as SRH posted 177/3 in their 20 overs. Mumbai Indians collapsed when it was their turn to bat, with Harbhajan Singh’s 21 being the top score in a woeful total of 92 all out in 16.3 overs that handed SRH the 85-run win.

4. 84 (49) vs Delhi Daredevils (2012)

Delhi Daredevils were the team on the receiving end of Dhawan’s innings of 84 off 49 balls in 2012 when he was playing for the Deccan Chargers. 9 fours and 5 sixes studded Dhawan’s knock, which propelled the Chargers to a respectable total of 187/4 in 20 overs. However, it was Dhawan’s future long-term opening partner at Sunrisers Hyderabad, David Warner, that decided the game in Delhi’s favour. Yet another instance wherein Delhi Daredevils got put to the sword by the Delhi batsman, this time coming during Dhawan’s time with Sunrisers Hyderabad. This match was played in 2018, a year before Dhawan left SRH to rejoin the Delhi outfit. It was lit up in the first innings by a memorable ton from Rishabh Pant, who scored 128* off just 63 balls as he helped Delhi post 187/5 in their 20 overs. However, Dhawan’s unbeaten 92 off 50 balls, along with 83* off 53 balls from skipper Kane Williamson, made light work of the chase as SRH took the 9-wicket win and Dhawan walked home with the man of the match award.
