PKL Season 9 : Key updates and Stats from Day 27

PKL 9 key updates

1. Match number 66 was the 6th Tie of season 9 – The competitiveness of PKL season 9 was on display yet again as the match between Bengal Warriors and UP Yoddhas ended in a 41-41 draw. The Warriors produced an amazing comeback in the second half to share the spoils as they were trailing by 10 points by the end of the first 20 minutes. It took a clinical team performance to turn the deficit around through brilliant individual performances from captain Maninder Singh who received the support of Shrikant Jadhav, Deepak Hooda, Shubham Shinde, Girish Maruti Ernak and Manoj Gowda.

2. Maninder Singh becomes the latest PKL raider to cross 1100 career raid points – Season 9 of PKL is setting benchmarks after benchmarks and yesterday Maninder Singh did one of those. Not only are we seeing a turmoil in the points table but we are also witnessing a lot of ups and downs in the PKL all time stats. In terms of raid points, “Dubki king” Pardeep Narwal is already miles ahead with 1449 career raid points in 142 matches. Narwal also completed 100 raid points in last night’s clash against Bengal. However, Bengal’s captain Maninder Singh is really trying hard to chase him down this season. He completed his Super 10 and finished with 18 raid points last night with his all time tally reaching 1114 raid points in Bengal’s 41-41 draw against UP Yoddhas.

3. Dabang Delhi K.C end their losing streak – Defending champions Dabang Delhi finally ended their losing streak to hand bottom sided Telegu Titans yet another setback in their hopes of making it to the play-offs. Delhi were without a win in their last 5 matches due to lack of substantial performances from players other than Naveen Kumar and Ashu Malik. However, last night they faced a relatively weaker side in Telegu Titans, who are having yet another season to forget since making their debut in season 5. The Titans have won only 1 match and lost 11. They are languishing in the 12th spot with only 9 points to their name.
