Best Bowling Figures Against SRH

While we all remember great batting performances for time immemorial, a lovely bowling performance in T20 cricket often goes unnoticed. However, there are some bowling performances that players and fans at SRF have had the misfortune of witnessing that have almost shaken the world.

Here’s a list of the Best Bowling Performance against SRH in IPL cricket for you to realise what it takes to achieve victory!

5. James Faulkner (5/20)

James Faulkner Best Bowling Figures Against SRH

James Faulkner made a name for himself as an excellent T20 bowler, particularly with an arsenal of slower deliveries that batsmen found it hard to pick. The left-arm bowler found playing against SRH particularly enjoyable during his time with Gujarat Lions and Rajasthan Royals, as he picked up not one, but two five-wicket hauls against them! This was the first of those two – a match-winning performance for the Royals against SRH in 2013.

Faulkner ran through the SRH batting lineup in the first innings, with only Darren Sammy’s heroics with the bat guiding them to a competitive 144/9 in 20 overs. Shane Watson single-handedly made a mockery of the chase, scoring 98 off 53 balls as the Royals cruised to an 8-wicket win and Faulkner cruised to fifth place on this list of the Best Bowling Figures Against SRH in IPL matches.

4. James Faulkner (5/16)

Faulkner makes a return to this list of the Best Bowling Performance against SRH Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL games with his second fifer against SRH. What makes this performance special is the fact that it came in the same season, which means that Faulkner only got better after taking 5 against SRH earlier on! Once again, it was SRH that were batting first, and once again it as Faulkner who ripped through the heart of the batting lineup.

Only a solid 55 from 46 balls from Biplab Samantray kept SRH in the hunt as the crawled to 136/9 in their 20 overs. However, unlike the previous entry, SRH stormed back in the second innings with an inspired bowling performance of their own to keep the Royals to 113/9 in their 20 overs and seal a 23-run win.

Here’s a name not many would have expected to see on this list of the Best Bowling Figures Against SRH in IPL matches. Ankit Rajpoot turned in the performance of a lifetime against SRH while playing for Kings XI Punjab in 2018, as he grabbed 5/14 in his 4 overs. After Rajppot had done the damage, Manish Pandey restored some respectability to the total with a fighting half-century. Once again, however, the SRH bowling unit rose to the challenge supremely well, taking wickets and regular intervals in the second innings to bowl Kings XI out for 119 and seal a gripping 13-run win.

2. Adam Zampa (6/19)

Australian leg-spinner Adam Zampa comes in next on this list of the Best Bowling Performance against SRH in IPL matches, with his stunning spell of 6/19 for Rising Pune Supergiants in 2016. Zampa’s mesmerising leg spin bamboozled the SRH batting lineup, who could barely figure out how to play him, and Shikhar Dhawan’s laboured 33 from 27 balls ended up being their top scorer. Yet again, however, the SRH bowlers rose to the occasion by taking wickets at regular intervals, keeping Pune to 133/8 in 20 overs to claim a 4-run win.

1. Alzarri Joseph (6/12)

Although SRH have proved themselves to be able to recover from disappointing batting failures to emerge victorious on the other side, there was no coming back from Joseph’s fiery spell that will go down in IPL history as one of the Best Bowling Figures Against SRH in the tournament’s history. Having kept Mumbai Indians to 136/7 in their 20 overs in the first innings, SRH would have fancied their chances at victory in this one.

However, Alzarri Joseph had other ideas – he ran through the SRH lineup with little regard as to the identity and experience of any of the batsmen, claiming 6/12 in 3.4 overs. These remain the best bowling figures in the IPL to this day, beating out Sohail Tanveer’s effort of 6/14 in the inaugural season of the IPL.
