WTC Final: Big update on Team India, Along with Sarfaraz Khan and Ishan Kishan, these players will also go to England

While the IPL 2023 is taking place, discussions for the World Test Championship have also begun. Even though the teams from Australia and India will square off in the WTC’s championship game on June 7. Australia’s team for this was initially revealed, and then the BCCI revealed Team India, led by Rohit Sharma.

The Oval stadium in England will host the decisive game. Although the team had previously been revealed, there has recently been a significant upgrade. It has been confirmed that 15 members of the chosen Team India will go to England as well as some other players who may join Team India on this visit.

According to reports, Sarfaraz Khan, Ishan Kishan, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Mukesh Kumar, and Navdeep Saini can all travel to England as backup players. Senior BCCI officials were reported by TOI as saying that Team India will arrive in England well in advance of the final and would also play a warm-up game.

Players who go as standby will be able to make a place in the team only when a player from the main squad gets injured or goes or becomes ill. These players are playing as their replacement. The team has three openers in the form of captain Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Shubman Gill, with Ruturaj Gaikwad also being talked about.

However, Ruturaj Gaikwad‘s name has now also surfaced as a backup player who can perform the keeping. KS Bharath has been chosen as the wicket-keeper, while KL Rahul can also undertake the keeping if necessary. Mukesh Kumar and Navdeep Saini will try to fill this void in fast bowling if necessary.
