After losing two consecutive matches, Sunrisers Hyderabad are finally off the blocks. They have convincingly beaten Delhi Capitals by 15 runs in their third game of the tournament. For the first time in IPL 2020, they have performed as a unit and were spectacular in all three departments.

Warner and Jonny Bairstow started slowly but made sure they don’t lose a wicket till the first half of the innings. An uncharacteristic 53 form Jonny Bairstow and 45 from Warner set the foundation for the side. However, it was New Zealand skipper, Kane Williamson who gave the much-needed impetus and helped the team get to a competitive total.

Playing his first match of the tournament, Williamson blazed his way to a fine 26-ball 41, including 5 fours. SRH, in the end, posted 162 runs in their 20 overs.

It took three games for SRH bowling to show why they are regarded as one of the best bowling units in IPL. Rashid Khan led the spin attack from the front and bowled a sensational spell of 3 for 14 in three overs. He broke Delhi Capitals’ middle-order, having accounted for the wickets of Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant.

Add to that, the seamers bowled with a lot of discipline and precision. After having a modest run in the first two games, Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled a sensational spell of four overs. He took 2 for 25 in fours, which includes some perfect yorkers in the death overs. T Nataraj too showed his worth, who gave away just 25 in his 4 overs with 1 wicket to his name.

Sunrisers Hyderabad will play their next game against Chennai Super Kings on Friday, while Delhi Capitals will square up against Kolkata Knight Riders on the same day.
