Karanjit Singh Parmar is an Indian goalkeeper who plays for Kerala Blasters in the Indian Super League. Karanjit Singh was born on January 8, of the year 1986.

Football Club Career

Karanjit, who was born in Hoshiarpur, Punjab, India, began playing football when he was 15 years old. Sukhwinder Singh, a former head coach of India’s national team, noticed him in a nearby competition. Karanjit Singh Parmar was then selected for JCT in the year 2004 and played there for six seasons. In his first season with Salgaocar after moving there in the year 2010, Karanjit won the I-League.

Chennaiyin, an Indian Super League team, selected Karanjit in the 2015 ISL player auction. In the 2015 ISL, Karanjit participated in four league games but failed to record any shutouts. Karanjit earned his second league championship, and Chennaiyin won their first-ever ISL championship with a 3-2 victory over Goa in the championship game. Karanjit was loaned to Salgaocar for the 2015–16 I–League in the month of January of the year 2016.

Ahead of the 2017–18 ISL season, he agreed to a two–year contract extension with Chennaiyin in July 2017. With a 3-2 victory over Bengaluru in the 2018 ISL final, Chennaiyin earned their second ISL championship and their first Indian championship. Karanjit had a season-high seven clean sheets in the 2017–18 ISL. Karanjit agreed to a one-year contract extension on August 31, 2019, which made him a goalkeeping coach for the team. Karanjit signed a one-year contract extension on September 5, of the year 2020, keeping him with the team till the end of the 2020–21 season, Chennaiyin announced.

On December 21, it was revealed that Karanjit had been signed by the Kerala Blasters, an opponent of his former club Chennaiyin, to fill the void left by the injured Albino Gomes.

Karanjit extended his contract with the Blasters for another year on May 30, of the year 2022, despite not playing for them during the 2021–2022 season. On January 29, of the year 2023, Karanjit made his Blasters debut in a 2-0 victory over NorthEast United Football Club (FC), also recording a clean sheet.

On June 16, the Blasters confirmed Karanjit’s one-year contract extension through the year 2024 ahead of the 2022–23 season.

International Football Career

On July 23, of the year 2011, Karanjit made his international debut for India after he replaced Subrata Pal, the team’s senior goalkeeper, against the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Karanjit Singh Parmar assisted India in winning the 2011 SAFF Cup by helping them defeat Afghanistan 4-0 on December 11, of the year 2011. Karanjit Singh Parmar began each of India’s five games, went on to record three shutouts, and only allowed two goals overall during the competition.
